Kennedy produced for a wide range of businesses and organizations, beginning with simple advertisements as a young printer and expanding to create specialized book objects for historical narratives, programs for chamber music performances, and scripts for plays. This publication is a script for the seventy-fourth Grove Play of the Bohemian Club, The Flying Spear, which tells the story of Portuguese sailors as they meet the King of the Hawaiian Islands, set in the year 1795. It features illustrations and details by Ronald Rampley, which compliment Kennedy’s fine print job. Kennedy printed many objects for the Bohemian Club over the course of their play production years. UW-Milwaukee Special Collections holds multiple examples of these publications.
