"Edge of the Sea is a portfolio of woodcuts with the text devised as excerpts from a diary. It was inspired by out trip to Maine. We were invited to spend a week on Pond Island off the shores of Millbank, Maine. Everyday was a new experience, as I grew up on the Mojave Desert in California. I explored the tide pools and watched the lobstermen haul traps around the island. After a week we drove north to Beals Island and Great Wass Island. There we met a lobster-man and his family, who drew us back summer after summer."
