Steny's Friday Fish Fry Curbside Pickup

In the absence of being able to get out to bars and restaurants, community members have responded to this predicament in different ways. What has stood out is their drive to offer moral support to businesses in need, including bars and restaurants. One such restaurant, Steny’s, had to lay off staff and held a drive-thru Friday fish-fry with half of the proceeds going towards those recently-laid-off staff. The number of cars lined up outside the restaurant that evening snaked around several blocks.  

When Milwaukee citizens rally behind their favorite local eateries and watering holes, what they provide owners and staff go well beyond financial assistance in the middle of a “sink or swim” environment – it offers them the encouragement they can rely on clientele to be friends as well as customers.
