The Honorable Frank P. Zeidler produced this version of Macbeth, whose purpose is clearly stated in the subtitle, while he was serving as Mayor of Milwaukee. Responding to some of the difficulties young people encountered with Shakespeare's language, Mayor Zeidler's version of the following speech by Macbeth is offered on p. 77.
I have almost forgot the taste of fears.
The time has been my senses would have cooled
To hear a night-shriek, and my fell of hair
Would at a dismal treatise rouse and stir
As life were in't. I have supped full with horrors.
