Joseph Priestly (1733-1804).
Discourses Relating to the Evidences of Revealed Religion. London: Reprinted for J. Johnson, 1794-1799. Originally printed in Philadelphia.

Priestly was a tutor at Warrington, a well-respected academy for higher education established by the Unitarians. Warrington was founded because many Unitarians found it impossible to obtain degrees from Oxford or Cambridge unless they submitted to an Anglican oath of faith. Priestly stated that both sexes should receive the same careful, diverse education, and that well-educated women would be admirable influences on men. Priestly’s Theological Review was among many Unitarian-published monthly and quarterly journals.
