“Some time after we printed A Tale of Life in miniature [A11], Donna made the large linocut used in this book. Inspired by that cut and Eric Gill’s combination of illustration and typography in The Golden Cockerell Press’s Four Gospels, we began to experiment with a large-format book. We must have made fifty different title and text pages before we settled on the ones used in this book.”
