Though the Chinese Christian Church of Milwaukee now sit across the street from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee's campus, it has not always been in this location. It was organized in 1974 and began in a number of rented facilities in the city's far northern suburbs. Yet the church has long had a strong connection with colleges in the area, as many of the church's early members were students who had come from China to attain advanced degrees in the city.
