Title

Social Distance Rehearsal for UWM's "Le Nozze di Figaro"

Description

UWM's Opera Theater has an active Instagram page that helps to illustrate the ways in which the university, staff, performers, musicians, etc. were adapting to everyday events during the COVID-19 pandemic. In this photo/post, one sees the distance the performers are from each other. They also are wearing masks. The performances of "Le Nozze di Figaro," were also masked; the performers had to modify the traditional norms of vocal practice before a performance. This photo speaks to the dedication and willingness of the vocalist to not only perform but to perform and practice with foreign objects and requirements. Their zeal and talents were viewable for free and streamable through the UWM Peck School of the Arts from April 9th to the 10th of 2021. “Le Nozze di Fiagro” is a comedic opera originally composed by Wolfgang Mozart which focused on love but also commented on class structures of the 1700s.
