Title

UWM Student Vaccination

Description

As an out of state student from Indiana, I did not know when I would be able to receive the vaccine due not being in my home state where my regular doctor is. I had no clue if they would allow for out of state students to get the vaccine in Wisconsin. Indiana announced that they would allow for those 18 and older to get the vaccine at the end of March, but I would not be able to go home until the semester ended. Shortly after the announcement of the new eligibility in Indiana, Wisconsin announced that those 18 and older were eligible to get the vaccine at the beginning of April. After finding out that even out of state students were eligible to get the vaccine at the UWM Student Union, I signed up to receive my vaccine a week later. It is a huge stress relief to finally be vaccinated as I didn’t think I would be able to until the Summer. It also relieves the stress of returning home to my loved ones since everyone in my family is gradually becoming eligible and getting vaccinated.
