Title
Sent Back Home to Minnesota due to University Housing Closing March 2020
Description
A photograph of the landscape surrounding Alexis’s hometown in rural Northern Minnesota. University Housing closing caused her to be forced to go back home while still finishing her spring classes online. She would go on hikes as a break from the schoolwork.
“Back home in rural Northern Minnesota March 2020. In a way, I was happy to be away from the city surrounded by people during this pandemic. After spending a few hours each day doing online coursework and wrapping my head around how online laboratory classes would work, I would go outside for hikes to get some fresh air. That being said, I felt like I was trapped in my past. I love my parents but suddenly I was like a child again in their eyes since I was living underneath their roof. They could not comprehend my sleeping schedule or studying schedule sometimes, but in a way it's like we were learning about each other again and new aspects of our lives that they haven't seen before.”
