Title

Protest in the Front Yard

Description

When you hear the word protest what images are conjured? Mobs of angry people storming up and interstate ramp or walking down the middle of a usually pack street in the financial district surrounded by police and witnessed by skyscrapers built by the many to protect and advance the few? What if they took place or beginning staging in the suburbs and only grew as they moved forward picking up like minded individuals along the way? This is exactly the scene that took place in late July as protesters took to the streets in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement in the most segregated city in the country. Jess and her family had front row seats as people began to gather outside her home. It is a movement that has not been hindered by the pandemic and has even become a flashpoint to bring other injustices targeting additional minority groups locally and internationally.
