“This book is about the birds Donna and I saw, and wish we had taken pictures of, on our 1996 trip to Australia. Collaged images and text from a book about Australian birds were glued to handmade paper folios. The pages were sewn and bound Coptic-style, with two halves of an Ultronic Panoramic Camera as covers.”

“Surf photos usually focus on the surfer, Showing only a tiny section of the wave. This book, with a narrow landscape format, directs the focus to the wave, and, in perspective, shows how small a surfer really is. An accordion book, with cut-up photos of me surfing, was bound between the back door and film pathway of a Vivitar EZ35 camera.”

The scroll is wound where the 35mm. film would have been in an Ansco Pix Panoramic camera. Brass handles to rotate the scroll replace the film spools.”

“A circular hole was drilled into the text block of a paper-back book. The hole and surrounding pages were painted to resemble a road. The hole, imagined as a globe or world, was populated with a collection of slot car wheels taken from slot cars I raced when in elementary school.”
