“The text is a quote by Sigurd Olsen. We were first introduced to his writing when our daughter, who was living in Minnesota, invited us to join her and some friends on a canoe trip in the Boundary Waters. One of our companions was taught literature and brought along a book written by Olsen who he describes as the ‘John Muir’ of the Boundary Waters. The illustrations were painted on that trip.”
