Title

School of Architecture and Urban Planning Clean Surfaces You Touch Sign

Description

This sign was found in the School of Architecture and Urban Planning (SARUP) building, just inside the southeast entrance. It shows a series of images, mostly about protecting a person’s physical body including masking, washing hands, avoiding touching your face, and physically distancing from others. The final image directs the user to “Clean surfaces you touch.” The sign is located in one of the busiest circulation paths in the SARUP building. Students and employees often use this corridor to avoid inclement weather while just passing through the building. Additionally, the sign is adjacent to the often-used public commons space. Throughout the SARUP building, this sign was found alongside the nearly 20 hand sanitizer stations. Also, variations of this sign were found at the UWM Student Union (without the clean surfaces images), and outside of the SARUP buildings largest lecture hall. However, in only two instances were wipes, sprays, or paper toweling within eyesight.
