A conversation with an essential worker.

This picture was a WhatsApp message I sent to my friend, who is a nurse. I became worried for her when the pandemic became full-blown in the United States. The importance of nurses, doctors, and other essential workers was felt significantly during this period. It became imperative to check more frequently on loved ones, especially those working on the frontline. The virus outbreak exposed the frailties of the healthcare systems of the United States and many countries around the world. As much as we need state-of-the-art health care facilities, we also need to increase the number of qualified health care workers.
I was pleased to hear that she was faring okay in the midst of all that was happening.
