This image is one of the multiple messages received during the COVID lockdown. Some of my friends created the WhatsApp group with the sole aim of sharing the COVID-19 updates. This messaging app was used as a channel to broadcast the latest news about the pandemic to those on the group chat. Using WhatsApp to share updates was quite helpful because when the federal and state governments told us to go into lockdown, I became fearful. I, at all costs, avoided tuning to news channels because every news bit was about a deadly virus and deaths. This trend became very depressing. The WhatsApp messages became my only source of information about the pandemic. Another good side of having the WhatsApp group chats is that the members could share funny memes, which effectively livened my mood.
