Many Protestants believe that converting others to Protestant Christianity is a central part of their faith. Often this happens on an individual level. But in the nineteenth century it happened at the institutional level too, with churches founding missions to try and convert the unchurched. This entry from Milwaukee's 1878 city directory shows how Westminster Presbyterian began as a mission chapel.
