This series of Facebook posts is of 2020 graduate Brennan Christianson as he accepts a new position, changes his employment status, and documents his first day at work. He graduated from UW-Milwaukee with a master’s degree in public history and museum studies. He explained that the pandemic affected job availability rather than his plans for applying to museums in Wisconsin. Job postings came in; he consistently applied to them, and he was finally offered a position as a site manager at the Door County Maritime Museum. Although Christianson is excited about this opportunity, he is aware that he must think about his profession in a different manner. He said: “COVID definitely changed how visitors could interact with museums, so I had to learn how to work in a quarantined museum setting.”
