This is a response from the Wisconsin Federation of Nurses and Health Professionals (WFNHP) to a letter sent by Milwaukee-area healthcare corporations in mid-April. Healthcare executives called on the community to help ensure the safety of healthcare workers.
The WFNHP calls out the executives for the mistreatment of their workers and asks them to do better. Some of the specific incidents noted in the letter include nurses wearing the same masks for over a month, cleaners of COVID patient room not being provided N-95 masks, and lab workers not being paid hazard pay.
The letter from executives, "We need your help to keep our caregivers safe: A letter to our community about COVID-19," is also included.
