No need for daily alarms. My 2 year old will wake me with plenty of time to get cleaned up, have breakfast and be logged on to do my job remotely. Rotating days in the office for now to limit the number of staff in the building at one time. Haven’t been in the office since last Thursday, 3/12, and won’t be there until Monday, 3/23. No idea when we will resume regular office times.
On one hand it’s nice. Getting to spend extra time with my husband, son and pets is helping decrease my anxiety over what is happening all around us. Since we both work full time jobs, family time was limited to about 2 hours together a day. On the other hand, global pandemic, people sick, people dying, people out of jobs. You know, end of days stuff. If that’s not enough, pile on the current political climate and it’s enough to overwhelm anyone.
Almost out of milk and other necessary food items. Someone had to go pick up some groceries today. My husband volunteered. He took sanitizing wipes with him and drove 30 minutes out of the city to an area with less confirmed cases. Plenty of staff on hand cleaning surfaces and carts ready to help. He found most of what we needed without issue. Once he got home, he stacked the groceries by the door. I sanitized every item that came in. Yes, it might be a bit much but there are people I love in this house and I’m willing to take that extra step if it even makes just the slightest bit of a difference.
Everything feels so surreal and uncertain.
