In the fall of 2020, the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee started the school year with the overwhelming number of its courses online. At the time, other colleges were beginning their school year as well, with a number of schools meeting in person and seeing significant COVID outbreaks as a result. This photograph was taken near UWM's campus outside of student housing. It's reflective, I think, of the ways in which people thought about college students in the fall of 2020.
