The College of Idaho
Nick Underwood is assistant professor of history and the Berger-Neilsen Chair of Judaic Studies at The College of Idaho. He earned his PhD in modern European and Jewish history from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2016. Previously, he was a research fellow at the Frankel Institute for Advanced Judaic Studies at the University of Michigan, a postdoctoral researcher at the GHI West and University of California Berkeley, and visiting scholar at the Simon Dubnow Institute for Jewish History and Culture at Leipzig University, and has also taught at Sonoma State University and Napa Valley College. He earned his PhD at the University of Colorado Boulder in modern European and Jewish history in 2016. His first book, forthcoming from Indiana University Press, manuscript is titled Yiddish Paris: Staging Nation and Community in Interwar France. He also serves as managing editor for the journal American Jewish History.
