Creator
Thomas, Peter
Description
28 x 21.5 cm (11” x 8 ½”), 12 pages, 9 copies.
Binding: Orange and black Guatemalan cloth over boards. End sheets plum, hand-made by Peter Thomas. Paper: White, called “Sabot” in colophon, hand-made by Peter Thomas. Printing: Letterpress. Typography: Hand-set Goudy Thirty, Hadriano Stone Cut, and ornamental initials; initials and title in red. Notes: One unnumbered copy differs in that it is bound in a portfolio full-bound in striped cloth.
“The small edition is explained by the fact that this was the first book printed exclusively on Peter’s handmade paper. At the time, papermaking was very hard work because of lack of skill and inferior equipment.”
