Vol. 1-2 comprises an exact facsimile reproduction of the Mazarin Library copy of the Gutenberg Bible, in two volumes, accompanied by two volumes of commentary. The commentary volumes (vol. 3-4) contain historical background and a list of all known copies of the Gutenberg Bible, followed by a transcription of the Latin text with parallel translation into English.
