WHAT IS LOOK HERE!?

The Look Here! initiative was a pilot project led by the UWM Libraries that asked artists to create projects that reimagined, transformed, and engaged with the objects in our collections - especially our Digital Collections - in ways that were unimagined before the digital turn. The UWM Libraries worked with fifteen Milwaukee artists from RedLine Community Art Studio and Peck School of the Arts from fall 2016 to summer 2018, culminating in a physical exhibit at the Villa Terrace Decorative Arts Museum. During that period, the artists discussed their process and how they approached the collections in a series of interviews.

This digital exhibit highlights the work of the artists as it was installed at Villa Terrace in Summer 2018, and features selections from the collections the artists used as inspiration and source material.
