It Was A Job

Description

During the summer of 2020, I became unemployed from my data research job that had begun in the spring. So, what did I do for work that summer? I pitched weeds for the Okauchee Lake Management; driving around on barges to pitch weeds from piers, cutting seaweed on giant weed cutters, saving crayfish from being taken to the farm where the seaweed was transported to, and obtaining a tremendous amount of sunburn, this was my only option for work during the pandemic. I made $9.50 per hour, five to seven hour shifts, five days a week all while attempting to pay back $42,333 in student debt plus everyday expenses. I did a mundane job, but I was blessed; I worked outdoors with friendly people, but most importantly, I was able to come home safely to my family everyday wherein many others were not so blessed.
